Our Process
Starts with an appointment to
View the slabs
We recommend visiting one of our suppliers to get an idea of the possibilities. There are many options - granite, marble and quartz - each with its own distinct look and characteristics. Don't worry we can help guide you through this process.
We will also discuss the details - there are a few decisions that will need consideration -
What type of sink do I want?
What kind of edge profile?
Do I plan to tile the backsplash or do I want my backsplash to match my counter?
Do I want square corners or do I prefer them round?
Will I need seams - if so where will they be placed? The final decision on this will happen after the template is complete.
Will I need any special overhangs?
Once you make these decisions we will
Make the template
We will make a template of your cabinets and walls - everything needs to be in place (all cabinets securely mounted, all drywall in place) for the template to be accurate. If you have a farm or apron sink, we'll need that in place too. This ensures the final countertop fits as it should.
Now we can begin
Fabrication
Fabrication involves 3 steps - don't worry you don't need to do any of them!
Cut - we cut the stone to the shape and dimensions determined by the template
Fabrication - the stone is ground and shaped - sink holes are cut and edges are applied
Polish - the stone is polished to give it a clean, finished look
Then we are ready for
Installation
Our installers bring the stone to your house. Installation for a normal sized kitchen is typically 2-4 hours. It can be faster if no seams are required, or take longer if there are seams, a cooktop cut-out is required or other on-site work is needed.
Now you can
Enjoy your new countertops. Granite or quartz is a great investment in your home and you can look forward to years of use.
